Waste Management
Waste Management & Recycling Initiative
“Turning the tragedy of waste into the blessing of abundance”
Waste and waste charges are ever increasing, due to rising cost of landfill charges. Once we have used a product or want to replace something in our home, our only choices are to send it to landfill, or put it in the recycling bin. We believe there are other choices and the continued success of initiatives in Dublin and Macroom are proof of this. The Macroom initiative ran through the website www.wastematchers.com originally targeted at the business sector has recently expanded due to demand to householders. The initiative set up in Dublin for householders through itswebsite www.dublinwaste.ie has been a huge success not only for local residents but for householders all over the country. This demonstrates a clear need for such initiatives across the country.
We would like to develop a waste management and recycling initiative for County Waterford to connect people, businesses, community organisations and schools, with one another, allowing members to re-home or obtain recyclable and re-usable goods and materials. There would be no charges, no costs and no fees. The idea is to simply register as a member and go searching or register the item you no longer want.
