What is Social Enterprise?

Social Enterprises are profit making businesses set up to meet social or environmental needs.

Many commercial businesses would consider themselves to have social objectives, but “social enterprises “are distinctive because the social or environmental purpose encompass their core principles.

Dunhill Rural Enterprises Ltd has built up an excellent reputation, developing a highly recognizable brand among its client base, stakeholders and friends in the wider community. This includes regional, national and international forums and DREL is recognised for its success in generating new businesses, work opportunities, and for providing niche education and training facilities in the region.

In the next phase of its strategy in 2008 it is planning to build on its success to date and expand, reposition and brand Dunhill Ecopark as a best practice model for sustainable rural regeneration and community development . This will be achieved by implementing a range of integrated projects.

‘There is no limit to what can be achieved by a community working together.’
