Integrated Housing Complex: Gleann Ealach
The mission of Gleann Ealach is to build upon the existing sense of community by preserving, improving and creating an integrated housing complex. The empowerment of the local residents is our primary ethos.
Gleann Ealach (Valley of the Swans) is a unique and impressive Integrated Housing Complex set in 21 acres in Dunhill Village and supported by Waterford County Council. It will integrate:
- People with disabilities
- Retired people
- Affordable housing
- Private housing
- Safe housing for returned emigrants
- A principle attraction to residents will be the Centre for Respite Care
- Gleann Ealach will aim to be socially inclusive by integrating design features with links to activities in the village of Dunhill and Dunhill Ecopark
- It will include a featured Water Garden
- A walkway from Gleann Ealach to the Ecopark will be a planned feature
- The Multi-Education Centre will offer a wide range of lectures and activities to the residents of Gleann Ealach
- Opportunities for them to contribute their life skills & knowledge
- The facilities of the GAA centre including gym will also be available to the residents
- A new walking trail in the constructed wetlands will offer an ideal location for the residents to exercise and enjoy the local habitat of flora and fauna
- There will be a multiple choice of social, economic, cultural and craft activities in the Ecopark to provide an active and interesting living environment for all the residents of Gleann Ealach
